Senate Bill 442: Instruction Concerning Human Sexuality 

Summary

Senate Bill 442, recently enacted in Indiana, focuses on instruction concerning human sexuality in schools. It mandates that school boards approve all sex education materials, which must then be publicly posted online. The bill also requires certain information, including the gender of the instructor and whether the class will be co-ed, to be provided to parents before a student receives instruction on human sexuality.

• A 3-minute video about fetal development is required and has been added to our program

• Sexually Transmitted Diseases should now be referred to as Sexually Transmitted Infection

• Students will be separated by gender

• A female instructor will facilitate the female students and a male instructor will facilitate the male students
